~ Brick numbering at Boyle Abbey, Roscommon

CONDITION REPORT

Different orientations of a building will have different conditions due to differential weathering, therefore all elevations must be thoroughly inspected and recorded. Carrig believe that in order to carry an in-depth condition report of any building one must get to all areas of that building and the use of a cherry picker is essential to see all skyward surfaces and conditions. Carrying out a survey from the ground with binoculars is useless in our opinion as you will miss important information.

WHY DO YOU NEED A COndition REPORT?

Recording relevant information onto drawings will indicate patterns of decay and/or weathering and this is essential in understanding buildings facades prior to writing or recommending interventions.
If you would like more information, or would like to discuss a project, please contact the office to speak to one of our conservation consultants.
