about the company

at Carrig we are involved in the development and promotion of conservation and the built heritage

Carrig Conservation International Ltd was established in 1995 and is the oldest and largest building conservation consultancy currently operating in Ireland. Carrig employs a multi-disciplinary team of specialists with expertise spanning the areas of architectural conservation, new build, energy retrofit of existing buildings and research.  With a scientific ethos and background, we offer a unique level and quality of service to architects, engineers, building owners, state parties, Local Authorities and NGO's.
Carrig employs the best practice principles of international conservation charters and has earned a reputation for considered and creative historic conservation strategies. Carrig’s approach to the energy retrofit of existing buildings is based on research, data and modelling with the objective to improve the energy efficiency of the building as much as is reasonable practicable without jeopardising the material stability or heritage significance of the building. Carrig also offers research services on topics such as climate change adaptation, architectural research and policy development.
