Tim joined Carrig in 2024 as a registered Architect having worked for several years in architectural conservation and heritage management in the Office of Public Works. He has extensive knowledge of thermal upgrades of historic structures and with conservation works to protected structures.
His experience spans across planning, designing, management, R&D, and overseeing construction projects, with proficiency in software like AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Sketchup, Adobe Suite, and GIS. Prior to joining Carrig, Tim worked in the Conservation section of OPW - in this role he led two large scale projects, one aimed at the retrofitting and conservation of buildings within Dublin Castle; the other focused on the conservation of the prestigious Emo Court House and Gardens in Co. Laois. He is experienced at leading multidisciplinary teams to address conservation challenges and has a strong focus on the integration of appropriate, modern thermal upgrade interventions within the conservation process. He also has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, having been involved in several public works schemes, including the Athlone Flood Alleviation Scheme, Bandon Flood Relief Scheme and the redevelopment of Trim Market House as a modern visitor centre for Trim Castle. Tim has also had an active role in his home community of Athlone, leading and representing local community groups in heritage protection and developing strategies for the future preservation of historic local contexts. Tim has an in-depth knowledge of international conservation theories, charters, policies and practices, is a member of the Irish Georgian Society, An Taisce, and is a contributor to the Irish Architecture Magazine, published by the RIAI.
