Ruth Graterol joined Carrig’s research team in 2024 as a Research Assistant. With experience in the environmental consulting sector at Arborea Environmental Consulting C.A. in Caracas, Venezuela, Ruth supported multidisciplinary teams of Senior Consultants and project managers in orchestrating successful environmental projects.

Ruth holds an MSc in Environmental Management from Kiel University, Germany. Motivated by a deep interest in climate change's impact on coastal communities, natural ecosystems, and cultural heritage, Ruth pursued specialization in disaster risk management and environmental planning. Her project portfolio includes diverse initiatives, such as preparing Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and designing Solid Waste Management Plans and other environmental studies.

One of Ruth's notable contributions was collaborating on a peer-reviewed journal article on mapping tsunami impacts on land cover and ecosystem services in Phang Nga, Thailand. She looks forward to applying her skills and knowledge to contribute to Carrig's research team development and success.
